Easter Night

The night was colder than usual. I was feeling very uneasy to drive. Usually I enjoy every part of driving, but today it was bit different. An odd feeling. Intuition.

While driving through the steep slope I felt as if my car is getting tilted.  I gave it an instant halt and got out. I took a glance of the car. The front tyre was punctured. “God!! “, I yelled silently. I had no other way to go home. I had to wait till the morning.
It was Easter night and I had already promised my wife, to be early at home. The unexpected meeting had wiped my plans away.
I looked around. I didn’t even have a jacket. The cold mist seemed hugging me tight. I was almost shivering. I had never been to that place. The thick darkness was adding to my fear, no, not even a single human there.
I cursed the moment when I decided to take this short cut. My friends had advised me not to take that route, but I was in a hurry. But it was a real scary ambience.
A sudden music from somewhere. I felt a chill in my spine. I paid a horrified look into my car. The toy I have bought for my daughter, Joan. A smile appeared on my face and faded away. I wanted to get home. The thought that Joan is waiting for her me made me restless. I should have avoided that meeting.
I so badly wanted to see a human, at least. I locked my car and started walking. I felt lonely.

“Is anybody in?”
Silence.
“Anybody?”
While standing in front of the door and calling out I desperately wanted a reply. I had seen the light from far, but no one replied. I sat on the corridor, resting my head on my knees. After a few seconds I heard some footsteps approaching me. I looked up. A lady with her kid.
“Who are you?”
Her voice was intense, dubious. I felt so relaxed seeing a human. It didn’t take more than 5 minutes to explain her everything that happened to me. She sighed as if she got convinced.
“Come inside”
I stood up on my feet and followed her. I didn’t bother to ask anything about her. I just wanted a shelter for that night.
“You can use that room”, said she, pointing her finger towards a room. Her kid kept me reminded of my Joan. I missed her.
Within  few seconds I was in deep sleep.
** ** **
I felt deep pain on my throat. I tried to open my eyes. The pain was extreme. I could feel two pair of hands on my throat. I hardly heard what they talked.
“Mom, his blood tastes good”
“Shhhh.. don’t make him awake. Drink as much as you want”
 “I will finish him off”

“Sir, We cant move further. Front tyre is punctured” said the constable looking at the inspector.
“Oops”
“A steep slope”. Inspector didn’t seem to care about that. He was lost in thoughts.
“There is something strange about this case”
“Atleast we should have taken leave on this Easter day” grunted the constable.
Inspector didn’t answer for that. It was him who wanted to prove the case of missing software engineer.
“Come lets walk, we have to find a shelter for this night”

Glacier National Park: Day 1- Grinnell Glacier

Glaciers are formed by the repeated snowfalls in winter, and snow melts in summer. When snow accumulates by each passing snow fall, the snow becomes ice and heavy. This causes the mass of ice+snow to move around shaping and corroding the rocks. For this reason the mountains surrounding the glaciers will have very unique shapes, steep drop off points and can have sharp edges. Sad thing though, as temperature increases by global warming, the snow gets time to melt away and glaciers will slowly disappear. I read that, glacier national park had so many glaciers, which now dont even exist.

Glacier National park: Day 2- HighLine Trail

Our plans for the second day at glacier was to drive the 'Going to the sun road', and hike the HighLine trail. Going to the sun road is 50 mile very scenic drive through the mountains. It can be accessed from the east entrance at St Mary or the west entrance at West Glacier. We chose St mary, thinking we could watch the sunrise over St Mary lake when we start the day. The scenic road can be done by park's free shuttle system too. They are free and make stops at all attraction points along the route. Since we had to reach the other side of the mountain, we took our car.  The highest point on the route is Logan Pass which is home to two very beautiful and breathtaking trails, Hidden Lake trail and HighLine trail. The 12 mile HighLine trail is carved through the Garden Wall mountain ranges, you walk through a very narrow trail which is made right through the mountain. Though a lil scary this is a highlight of Glacier National Park. They also have a hand rail hung to the m...

La La Land

This is one of the trips that I thought would be a fully urban feel and turned out not to be! La has its own fair share of everything;beaches, canyons, markets, gardens and the posh city life. We reached LA on the night of 26th April. We were staying near to the beaches, so it was a short drive from airport. Once we landed we grabbed dinner and shopped for water and snacks for the rest of the week. By around 10'o clock we were all set to hit the bed.
