The Remnants Of Virtues

The bus was too crowded.

I was sitting by the window. The whole city was in the color of dusk, and I felt  the breeze caressing my face. The chit-chats from the crowd made a continuous rhythm for my sights. I felt relaxed and hushed.
Minute by minute it got more crowded. People were making it difficult to even stand straight in the bus. Every faces were covered with the shadow of tiredness and the hurry to reach home.
Two guys were sitting in front of me with their earplugs on, and eyes closed. Above their seat it was clearly written ‘LADIES’. But since both of them kept their eyes closed, as if they didn’t see the board.
“Can’t u see it is ladies’ seat?” , I woke up from my thoughts hearing this sentence.
I expected a 30-40 year old lady. I gazed at her, and I was totally right. She was wearing dirty dresses and was very weak. But her voice stood over the whole noise made by the crowd. Every young guys standing near to her were laughing with their mouths covered. I felt pity for her, for being in the limelight.
Without creating an issue, one of the guys stood up from the seat. I was still staring at them. The other guy closed his eyes again and bent on the seat.
“Excuse me can’t u hear what I m talking, get up”, the lady shouted again.
When I looked at her there was already one seat and she was still shouting. Till this time I was feeling sympathy for her, but now I wondered why she was shouting again.
The guy who was sitting didn’t understand anything because of the headphones. All his friends were laughing like maniacs watching the lady. I felt bad too, she could have sat on the seat beside him.
Anyway the guy stood up from the seat and joined his gang, teasing and laughing at the lady. I kept on watching the lady. The next moment she turned back and told,
“hey I ve a got a seat for u, come here”.
I was too anxious to know who was that person. I looked aback and I saw the person.
An old lady in her 90s, with grey hair, dressed even worse than her,  carrying a big bag walking towards the empty seat.
As she came near I heard this sound, “Mam sit here, we have seats here”.

Glacier National Park: Day 1- Grinnell Glacier

Glaciers are formed by the repeated snowfalls in winter, and snow melts in summer. When snow accumulates by each passing snow fall, the snow becomes ice and heavy. This causes the mass of ice+snow to move around shaping and corroding the rocks. For this reason the mountains surrounding the glaciers will have very unique shapes, steep drop off points and can have sharp edges. Sad thing though, as temperature increases by global warming, the snow gets time to melt away and glaciers will slowly disappear. I read that, glacier national park had so many glaciers, which now dont even exist.

Glacier National park: Day 2- HighLine Trail

Our plans for the second day at glacier was to drive the 'Going to the sun road', and hike the HighLine trail. Going to the sun road is 50 mile very scenic drive through the mountains. It can be accessed from the east entrance at St Mary or the west entrance at West Glacier. We chose St mary, thinking we could watch the sunrise over St Mary lake when we start the day. The scenic road can be done by park's free shuttle system too. They are free and make stops at all attraction points along the route. Since we had to reach the other side of the mountain, we took our car.  The highest point on the route is Logan Pass which is home to two very beautiful and breathtaking trails, Hidden Lake trail and HighLine trail. The 12 mile HighLine trail is carved through the Garden Wall mountain ranges, you walk through a very narrow trail which is made right through the mountain. Though a lil scary this is a highlight of Glacier National Park. They also have a hand rail hung to the m...

La La Land

This is one of the trips that I thought would be a fully urban feel and turned out not to be! La has its own fair share of everything;beaches, canyons, markets, gardens and the posh city life. We reached LA on the night of 26th April. We were staying near to the beaches, so it was a short drive from airport. Once we landed we grabbed dinner and shopped for water and snacks for the rest of the week. By around 10'o clock we were all set to hit the bed.
